One killed in crash south of Sanford

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The State Highway Patrol said a driver was killed in an accident south of Sanford Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on Buffalo Lake Road near Blanchard Road in western Harnett County just before 11 a.m.

Troopers said a 2004 Ford passenger vehicle crossed the yellow line, struck a wooden fence, and then a power pole before overturning.

The name of the driver has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
