Police responded to two stabbings in Raleigh Saturday that they say are connected.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Police responded to two reports of stabbings in Raleigh less than a mile apart on Saturday.

The first one was reported in the 4000 block of Matt Drive. Minutes later, police received a call about another stabbing on Atlantic Avenue.

Police have confirmed that the two incidents are related.

The suspect and the victim allegedly started fighting on Matt Drive, where the police said they found the victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound in his back. He was taken to WakeMed for treatment.

Meanwhile, the suspect asked a Raleigh officer for help on Atlantic Avenue because his hand was wounded. The officers connected the dots, and the suspect was taken to WakeMed North for treatment and questioning.

Detectives are still in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant, so the identities have not yet been released.
