CARY (WTVD) -- The Town of Cary is already preparing for snow.

On Wednesday, the Town of Cary's A-team held a "Snow Rodeo" or test run for snow trucks, spreaders, plows and employees in preparation for any potentially nasty weather this winter.

About 300 Town employees were on hand to perform maintenance and equipment checks, review procedures, practice communications plans and road checks as part of the comprehensive winter weather exercise.

Assessing readiness and operations for the Town, its citizens and its employees were also part of the drill.

Officials are reminding residents to prepare for adverse weather conditions as well by getting emergency kits together and planning for possible power outages or weather-related early school dismissals.

Residents can search "Winter Weather" at www.townofcary.org for tips, reference phone numbers and supply lists in the event of inclement weather.
