Suspicious package investigated at NC State's Centennial Campus

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A building at NC State's Centennial Campus was evacuated for about two hours on Monday afternoon because of a suspicious package.

It happened just after 3 p.m. inside Tower Hall, which is a residence hall, in the 1900 block of Entrepreneur Drive in Raleigh.

NC State officials said the device was not explosive.

They said it appeared to be a prop, project, or possibly a prank. It was PVC pipe spray painted to look like something it's not.

The investigation continues.
