SUV crashes into Denny's restaurant in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- An SUV crashed into a Denny's restaurant in south Durham Friday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of N.C. Highways 54 and 751 around 4:20 p.m.

The driver was not injured. A 10-year-old child in the vehicle was treated for a scratch on his back.

The driver told police he was trying to hit the brake, but hit the gas instead.

No one inside the restaurant was injured.

Structural damage to the building is said to be minimal, and the restaurant has reopened for business.
