FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A 16-year-old is dead after a shooting Saturday night in Fayetteville.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Randleman Street near the Derrydowne Court intersection.
Fayetteville police say a preliminary investigation revealed that the 16-year-old had been a guest at a nearby party when he became involved in a disturbance with an unknown suspect outside of the home.
Investigators say multiple shots were fired.
The 16-year-old died as a result of the gunfire, according to police.
His name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
Detectives say three suspects were seen fleeing the area in a dark colored SUV.
