Woman pleads guilty in crash that injured North Carolina DOT workers
WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- A Morrisville woman pleaded guilty Thursday in an April crash that left two North Carolina Department of Transportation workers seriously injured.
On April 19, the men suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on I-440 East at Capital Boulevard.
Darrick Bridges, 44, was struck and pinned between the car and an N.C. DOT truck. Kelly Lewis, 46, was struck by the car and knocked over a highway guardrail. Bridges had to have both legs amputated.

Bridges attended the court proceedings in a wheelchair. He told ABC11 he hasn't been able to work since the horrific wreck last spring.

Angela Renee Roland was initially charged under a section of the state's "move-over" law that applies to incidents involving death or serious injuries. DWI and felony serious injury by vehicle charges were added later.
In court Thursday, she apologized to her victims.
"I am humiliated, depressed, despised by my actions," said Roland. "If I could turn it back over I would. I would do so in a minute. I am so sorry. I have no other way of saying 'I'm sorry" other than I'm sorry."
She was sentenced to 14 months in prison and was order to received substance abuse treatment.
Roland has been out of jail on bond.
Bridges' mother, Mary, addressed the court.
"Our lives have forever changed," she said. "I pray that during this sentencing that she had time to think about what's she's done and change her actions so nobody else will have to become a victim."
