Surprise! North Carolina boy gets 'rattlesnake' for Christmas

BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- When a Bladen County boy told all his friends at school he was getting a rattlesnake for Christmas, his parents had an idea.

Brooks Carroll's mom Alison recorded video when his dad Cley brought out a present box on Christmas morning.

From the box came a loud hissing and rattling sound.

"Throw it outside! No! I don't want to open that! Get it away from me Dad!" Brooks cried.

After a while, Brooks' parents pulled off the lid to reveal it was just a speaker in the box making the noise. Brooks wasn't amused.

"Y'all are mean!" he said.
