Five sisters in the foster system officially got a forever home just in time for Christmas in Palmdale.

PALMDALE, California -- Five sisters in the foster system officially got a forever home just in time for Christmas in Palmdale, California.

Eliana Contreras adopted Adriana, Sabrina, Olivia, Kimberly, and Soraya. She has known the girls for years and even fostered them before deciding to start the adoption process about two years ago.

The adoption was finalized this month.

"Thank God, because we were waiting for that day; we were waiting for so long," Contreras said. "The whole purpose of that was for them to feel back (at) home and to take them out of the system."

Kimberly Galindo said she was grateful for the adoption.

"I'm just happy I'm able to be with my sisters because a lot of foster kids aren't able to be with their siblings. I'm just happy."

Contreras also has two sons, but they're already out of the home. She adopted her niece after her sister died.

Contreras said she is willing to adopt more children in the future when her new daughters are ready to move out.
