Woman hit by car in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the 2400 block of Murchison Road in Fayetteville Monday evening.

It happened around 8:15 p.m.

Officials said 35-year-old Inella Kemp was transferred to UNC in Chapel Hill from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.

The person driving the car did stop.

An accident reconstruction crew shut down Murchison in both directions while they looked for the cause of the accident.

The road reopened just before 11 p.m.
