Pedestrian killed on Highway 401 in Garner

GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Garner.

It happened on Highway 401 and the southbound lanes of 401 had to be shut down as police investigated.

The crash happened near Purser Drive. The road has since reopened.
