People rescued after tractor-trailer partially falls off barge near Bald Head Island

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WTVD) -- A tractor-trailer nearly fell off a barge in a freak accident on the coast Monday morning.

It happened near Bald Head Island.

The front of the truck fell off and became partially submerged in the water.

According to WWAY, the Coast Guard sent in a boat crew to rescue people stuck inside the 18 wheeler.

No injuries were reported.

The barge was eventually pulled into a marina in Southport.
