Meet Giselle, the blind munchkin cat searching for a home
The MSCPA has been posting on Instagram about Giselle the ''stumpy cat'' as she searches for a home.

A 2-year-old munchkin cat in Massachusetts is taking the Internet by storm just by putting one paw in front of the other.

Meet Giselle, who also goes by "Stumpy Cat." The MSPCA told ABC affiliate WCVB in Boston that she may be the most challenging cat they've ever placed.

The 2.5-pound cat is blind and suffers from joint and nerve pain. She was covered in matted fur and had a lung infection when she was given up to the shelter on Sept. 13.

Giselle is doing well now, the MSPCA told ABC, and they have started an Instagram page to post adorable photos and videos of Giselle as she recovers.

What Giselle needs now is a home to care for her special needs.

"This is a cat who deserves the very best home-and we need that special adopter to step forward," said Alyssa Krieger of the Jamaica Plain adoption center.

The ideal family for Giselle would:

  • Live in a single-story home because she has trouble getting around
  • Follow a regular routine so they could take care of Giselle's medications and other needs
  • Already have pets to keep Giselle company

Krieger believes that one of the best ways for Giselle to heal is to provide her with companionship in the form of other four-legged friends.

"She loves cats and it's been so rewarding for our team to provide her the simple pleasure of time with other animals during her stay in a foster home," she said.

Krieger is hopeful that sharing Giselle's story will help connect her to the perfect home.

"We're just so hopeful that her story motivates that special adopter who wants nothing more than to safeguard a cat most would view as 'broken,' and who will reciprocate with unconditional love and years of companionship," she said.
