A report by careers website Glassdoor.com names Raleigh as the best city for jobs in the country.

Raleigh has the highest Glassdoor Job Score, which the site says is determined by weighting the following three factors equally: "how easy it is to get a job (hiring opportunity), how affordable it is to live there (cost of living), and how satisfied employees are working there (job satisfaction)."

According to the study, "Raleigh's appeal mirrors the overarching trend we're seeing across this list. The cities that really stand out offer job seekers what they really want: a stable career that they're happy with, and the feeling that they can get ahead and eventually own a home."

The report also cites Raleigh's tech industry, numerous universities and walkability as contributing factors.

Latest unemployment figures from February puts Raleigh's unemployment rate at 4.3 percent, a full percent below the state average and 1.2 percent lower than the national average.
