Raleigh police say a man is behind bars after he attacked a woman Thursday at a gas station.

Raleigh police say a man is behind bars after he attacked a woman with a tree branch Thursday at a gas station.

The incident happened at the BP station on S. Saunders Street just south of downtown.

According to the arrest warrant, 56-year-old Adrian Jackson hit the woman in the arm with a three-foot tree branch and then pushed her to the ground.

Authorities said the attack was completely random.
