Could RDU see heightened security?
U.S. Airports like RDU could see heightened security after the crash of a Russian plane.

RALEIGH DURHAM INTERNATIONAL (WTVD) -- U.S. airports like Raleigh Durham International could see heightened security after the crash of a Russian plane.

U.S. and British leaders have said they suspect terrorists are to blame for an explosive device planted on the Metrojet's Airbus A321-200 that crashed shortly after takeoff from the Sharm el-Sheikh airport in Egypt on Saturday, killing all 224 people on board.

Travelers at RDU agreed longer security waits are a small price to pay for safety.

"It doesn't scare me at all," Laronda Lowery said. "I work for an airline so all in favor of heightened security. If it's to protect all people we have to follow the guidelines and I wish people would be patient."
