RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The temperature at Raleigh-Durham International Airport soared to 88 this afternoon, beating the old record of 87 set in 1941.

The average high for the region now is in the low 70s. Oddly enough, it was just a year ago today that we tied a record LOW at 32 degrees.

We're just one of dozens of cities that set record highs during the last few days.

Temperatures were in the mid-80s today as far north as New York and Philadelphia.

If you like this warm weather, make the most of Thursday. We'll enjoy one more day in the 80s before much cooler air arrives for the weekend.

Highs will drop into the low and mid-60s, and some areas could dip into the 30s by Sunday morning!
