ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a shooting early Saturday morning that left one person in critical condition.
Police said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Bolling Road around 3:45 a.m. The victim was shot in the head.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, but say this victim is in critical but stable condition.
Roanoke Rapids police Chief Chuck Hasty said the shooting appears to be the result of a dispute.
The victim was taken to the hospital by Halifax County EMS and airlifted to a trauma center.
The investigation is ongoing.
