Have you ever wondered how to blend together two substances that normally won't mix, like oil and water? Follow along with this video from ABC11 Science Club to discover how!

What are emulsions?

Emulsions are created when a compound called an emulsifier is added to substances that normally don't mix. Oil and water can be combined to create an emulsion when soap is added. Soap acts as an emulsifier because it has both hydrophobic (waterfearing) and hydrophilic (water-loving) ends.
