Habitat ReStore offers student discount

Students looking for a deal on items to head back to campus are being offered a 5% discount with a college ID at the Habitat For Humanity ReStore of Durham and

Orange counties the entire month of August.

"We are within seven miles of Duke and Carolina, also close to NC Central," explained store manager Chrissy Sailstad.

"It's really convenient for them to come down here and at least see what we have because we are so much cheaper," Sailstad said.

"We actually have a row of couches that is strictly five dollars," said ReStore Volunteer Manager Amanda Casella.

"Pretty much anything you need to fill your apartment or dorm you can get here," Casella said.

All items are donated and some are brand new including a flooring section. All proceeds benefit the non-profit that builds affordable housing in Durham and Orange Counties.

In addition to the 5% discount for college students in August, the Habitat ReStore in Durham will also have tag sales between 25%-75% off everything in the store the week of August 15-20 when students move in. They also have partnered with nearby business PDQ offering buy one get one free $10 gift cards.
