Cannons boom at Civil War reenactment
A Civil War reenactment drew a crowd in Morrisville on Saturday

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Dozens of Civil War reenactors descended on a Wake County town to take us back to a pivotal moment in time.

150 years ago, booming cannons and the cracking of musket fire could be heard across Morrisville.

The Battle of Morrisville Station was one of the last battles of the Civil War.

The town commemorated the anniversary Saturday afternoon with demonstrations at Town Hall.

Reenactors showed people what it was like for soldiers and people living through that turbulent part of American history.
