Thursday marked the 21st anniversary of the dinner, which was held at the Crown Expo Center. The meal is free to the public.

The meal once again included foods eaten to start the new year, including black-eyed peas and collard greens. Barbecue and candied yams were also served.

The sponsors are District Attorney Billy West; his predecessor, Ed Grannis; and Register of Deeds Lee Warren.
