APEX, N.C. (WTVD) -- Health Care Can't Wait solidarity vigils are taking place across North Carolina this week.

The event in Apex was held Wednesday evening.

It's part of the NC Justice Center Health Advocacy Project.

The events are opportunities for the community to pull together to let lawmakers know that residents support policy efforts to expand health care coverage and reject delays that impact people's ability to be healthy.

Residents at the vigils remember and honor the people who have suffered or died because they were uninsured.
