Here are the best stores to shop on Black Friday, according to WalletHub

Not all Black Friday deals are created equal, according to a new study by WalletHub.

To help consumers around the country plan for one of the biggest shopping days of the year, the personal finance site looked at Black Friday ads for major regional and national retailers. They then analyzed 8,000 deals from 35 of those stores and ranked them according to average savings.

Macy's came out on top, with an average discount of 63.4 percent off. By comparison, the average savings among all 35 stores was 39 percent.

Here are the 10 retailers with the best average deals.

1. Macy's: 63.4 percent

2. Stage: 62.8 percent

3. JCPenney: 62.8 percent

4. Harbor Freight: 62.6 percent

5. Gordmans: 61.6 percent

6. Kohl's: 58.1 percent

7. Shopko: 55.6 percent

8. Fred Meyer: 49.7 percent

9 Craft Warehouse: 45 percent

10. Sears: 43.9 percent

The site also analyzed average deals by product category, with the following stores coming out on top:

Apparel and Accessories: Gordmans

Computers and Phones: Kmart

Consumer Electronics: Fred Meyer

Consumer Packaged Goods: Macy's

Toys: Fred Meyer

Appliances: Stage

Furniture: Shopko

Jewelry: Stage

All Other Categories: Macy's
