Luke Maye is not fading away anytime soon for Tar Heels fans. And after knocking down the game winner to take them to the men's national championship basketball game (which they then won), why should he?

Maye threw out the ceremonial first pitch for UNC's baseball game vs. NC State on Friday night, and it wasn't too shabby.

Not too shabby at all.

As mentioned, Maye threw a 76-mph fastball over the plate just a tad inside. But for fans, Maye isn't just any basketball player. UNC fans of all ages flocked to him for autographs and photos.

We all know Tar Heels fans take their basketball very seriously, and that very much includes how serious they are about their newfound hero.
