CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina says junior forward Kennedy Meeks is expected to miss at least two weeks due to a bone bruise in his left knee.

The school announced Meeks' injury in a news release Monday, saying Meeks wouldn't play "for several weeks" but that it wasn't clear exactly how long he would be out.

Meeks is averaging 12.3 points and 7.4 rebounds while shooting nearly 60 percent through the first nine games.

Meeks had four points and six rebounds in 24 minutes of Saturday's loss at Texas. The No. 11 Tar Heels return to action Wednesday against Tulane and then face UCLA on Saturday in Brooklyn, New York.
