RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Some NC State Wolfpack football players were on a special mission Wednesday when they went shopping to help the Marine Corp Toys for Tots campaign.

Each football player scanned the aisles for just the right gifts to put smiles on the faces of some children who may not otherwise have gifts under the tree.

"It brings up a lot of times when I was a child when I just didn't have the opportunity to play around. This makes me feel good inside -- doing something for a good cause," said NC State offensive lineman Rob Crisp.

The Marines started the program back in the 1940s. Since that time, Toys for Tots has distributed more than 469 million toys to more than 216 million children.
