Panthers "Last Supper"
PITTSBURGH (WTVD) -- It's a look you'd expect from a group of grown men when another grown man who's a perfect stranger asks to take your picture at a restaurant.
This group of Carolina Panthers captured by me, carb-loading at Pamela's Diner (a Pittsburgh institution, I'm told) on game day might be sour for a different reason. This could be the last breakfast they enjoy as a group for awhile... or as Panthers anyway.
Tight End Marcus Lucas, and Wide Receivers Brenton Bersin, Mike Brown, Corey Brown, and Jerricho Cotchery (as they sit left to right) are a major story line in tonight's final preseason game against the Steelers. As it sits right now when the final roster is cut to 53, the most probable scenario of making the team is (from left to right again): cut, 53, cut, 53, 53. I am going to give CB the benefit of the doubt and say he'll catch everything this week and sneak across the finish line.
We can also assume newbie WR's Kevin Norwood and Devin Funchess are too busy studying the playbook to grab shortcakes.
Norwood was signed earlier this week and with zero sleep and was on the practice field Wednesday after a trade with Seattle.
Go ahead, look at the pictures and re-read the names above. The Panthers success this season hinges on THIS group of receivers. No, seriously!? Good luck with that Cam.
