DURHAM -- The captain of this year's National Champion Duke Blue Devils, Quinn Cook, and former Duke star Nolan Smith met when they were kids. And their lives have taken similar paths.
On Sunday, Cook and Smith spoke to a group at Durham's Southern High School about their relationship.
Cook said he was headed for trouble after the death of his dad. That's when Smith stepped in.
Cook ended up attending Oak Hill Academy in Virginia just like Smith, and that's where he caught the attention of Coach K.
Cook is still celebrating the Blue Devils' National Title win. Smith won a National Title in 2010 in Indianapolis, just like Cook.
