Apex student, 10, hit by car after school

A 10-year-old was hit by a car Friday.

APEX, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Apex Police confirmed to ABC11 on Friday that a 10-year-old girl was hit by a car after school.

The student had just left Laurel Park Elementary School and was crossing the street when she was struck on Laura Duncan Road, police said.

She suffered only minor injuries, police said, and is expected to be OK.

Her parents went with her to the hospital for treatment.

Police said there is no crosswalk at the site where the incident happened.
