RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A major health care technology company is moving into Raleigh's North Hills.

Kane Realty Corp. celebrated the groundbreaking of Midtown Plaza on Monday. The 12-story, 33,000 sq. ft. office building will be home to Allscripts.

Dennis Olis, Allscripts' Vice President of Operations said the company has outgrown its three-building space in The Forum office park in North Raleigh, and will move its 1,200 employees into the first nine floors of Midtown Plaza. From there, the company plans to expand.

"We think it's a great opportunity for recruiting new people, new college grads who could be part of the new apartment complexes that are built here," Olis said.

Construction on Midtown Plaza is expected to be complete by spring of 2017. Olis said Allscripts plans to be fully moved in by May of that year.
