16-year-old seriously injured in Wake County crash
WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Highway Patrol is investigating a serious accident on Old Stage Road near the Wake, Harnett County line around noon Thursday.
Images from Chopper11 HD showed a black sedan with extensive rear-end damage and a red truck with front-end damage along the side of the road.
Troopers said the passenger in the black sedan was a 16-year-old girl. She was taken to WakeMed. Her name has not yet been released.
The girl was unconscious when they took her from the car, troopers said. Her injuries are said to be life-threatening.
The Highway Patrol said the black sedan was traveling south when it went off to the right, over-corrected, and went back across the road into the red pickup truck.
The people in the red truck are okay, according to troopers. The driver of the black sedan refused treatment.
