JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A crash in Johnston County late Tuesday night forced authorities to take extra precautions after a pick-up truck slammed into a tanker truck.

Officials said the driver of the pick-up truck ran into the back of the tanker truck hauling diesel fuel on N.C. Highway 39 in Selma.

No one was hurt, but police blocked the road for over an hour because of the danger of explosion.

Authorities said they believed alcohol may have played a role in the crash. It is unclear if any charges have been filed.
