Local man creates website that turns credit card points into travel
Jon Hayes and his wife

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- How would you like to fly first class to go snorkeling in the Maldives, stay in a luxury bungalow with private beach access - all for less than $200? According to RewardStock creator, Jon Hayes, you can do it using reward points with credit cards.

"We didn't invent reward travel or the idea to accumulate a lot of points from credit cards. All we're trying to do is take a fairly complicated thing to figure out, and use software and algorithms to create those strategies so even if you're new to this, you'll be doing it the right way," he explained.

RewardStock is a free service. You login and enter what kind of credit cards you have and your monthly budget. You tell it what kind of trip you want to go on and where you want to go and RewardStock uses your information to come up with strategies for you to take that trip using reward points you earn. It will show you how you can use what you already spend every month, to earn reward points. Hayes says it will never tell you to get credit cards you cannot afford.

"It's easy enough to get the points just with your regular spending that you're already doing. We're not telling you to spend a dollar more, we're just saying - be smarter about where you spend that money, which card to pay for things," Hayes explained.

Hayes created the website after his experience planning a dream honeymoon to the Maldives. He and his new bride flew first class with a personal chef and stayed in an ocean-front bungalow with their own private beach access. And they snorkeled with whale shark. The trip cost $40,000, but because he earned and used reward points it cost him $200! Check out the pics where he stayed below!

RewardStock also has tutorials to help you from start to finish from planning to booking your trip. Hayes says trying to follow all the travel blogs and read the fine print of credit cards is time consuming. RewardStock does all the work for you.
