Two kayakers rescued on Cape Fear River in Harnett County

HARNETT COUNTY (WTVD) -- Two kayakers were rescued on the Cape Fear River in Harnett County Monday evening, according to Summerville Bunnlevel assistant fire chief Brian Heath.

Heath said both were found near Erwin.

The kayakers were found holding onto limbs from trees.

There were no injuries reported.

Heath added that river levels are high due to all of the rain and ask residents to stay off the river, for their safety and the safety of all first responders.
