UNC Charlotte student and boyfriend killed in Lumberton crash

LUMBERTON, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A UNC Charlotte student and her boyfriend died Sunday in a Lumberton crash.

WSOC-TV reports Dana Michelle Wilson, and Ryan Michael Menke - both 18, were killed in the crash on U.S. Route 74 west.

According to police, the driver of the other car was headed east in the westbound lane on a street on the south side of Lumberton around 1 a.m. when he collided with Wilson's car.

Police said the driver of the other car sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
