CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was robbed on UNC's campus early Saturday morning, according to the school's informational alert system, Alert Carolina.
UNC police said it happened in Porthole Alley just before 3 a.m.
Four suspects reportedly approached the victim, who is not a UNC student. The suspects physically assaulted the victim and took his cell phone.
As police arrived at the scene, officers saw two suspects fleeing in a silver vehicle. Those suspects were caught, but their identities have not been released.
The victim, who was taken for medical treatment, did not report seeing a weapon. His condition was not released.
Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the campus community.
The area has lights, but some students said they still don't think that's enough.
"Just for this area, there aren't any cameras I don't think," said graduate student Carolyn Liu. "Yeah it would help because this is such a common area people walk through."
