Van rolls over 6-year-old boy in Cary

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A van hit and rolled over a 6-year-old boy in Cary Saturday night.

Authorities said it happened around 7 p.m. on Carter Grove Court.

Police said the child was playing with chalk in a cul-de-sac.

The driver of the van didn't see the child before running the child over. The child didn't suffer serious injuries, authorities said.

It is not yet known if the boy has been released from the hospital, but authorities said he only has minor scrapes and bruises.

The child's identity has not been released.

An ambulance took the 6-year-old to Duke Hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed.
