CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the family of Shanquella Robinson against the FBI and the US State Department. Robinson died while on vacation in Mexico with six friends back in 2022.

The friends she traveled with said she died of 'alcohol poisoning.'

However, an autopsy conducted in Mexico later revealed she died of neck and spinal cord injuries. The FBI said there is not enough evidence for criminal charges.

Robinson's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in October against the FBI and the state department, seeking damages for battery, negligence, conspiracy, and emotional distress.

The six people who were on the trip with Robinson, which some have dubbed the Cabo 6, are also facing a lawsuit.

The judge has not yet ruled on that lawsuit.
