Weather disasters so far in 2017 have been costly

If the start of 2017 is any indication, this year could prove to be costly in terms of weather disasters and damages.

Through March, five weather disasters across the U.S. have each caused at least $1 billion in damages, according to AccuWeather.

Flooding in California, snow storms in the southeast and tornados in the south have all contributed to the difficult start of the year.
