With the storms gone, a drier weather pattern is setting up for the area through Wednesday, ABC11 Meteorologist Don "Big Weather" Schwenneker says.

"High pressure over the Gulf Coast will push eastward through the day today," he said. This area of high pressure will lead to plentiful sunshine and highs in the lower 70s."

Schwenneker says the high will shift off to the east Wednesday as a cold front moves through the Northeast.

With this set up, southwest winds will lead to a mild day with high temperatures above average in the mid to upper 70s. The cold front will move across the area on Wednesday night and can produce a shower or thunderstorm into Thursday morning.

Drier air will move in behind this front on Thursday and Friday with temps a bit cooler, in the 60s.
