ABC11 helps host Women's Empowerment event in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Tens of thousands of ladies came together Saturday for this year's Women's Empowerment event in Raleigh.

The annual event, held at the PNC Arena, is designed to help enhance the lives of African-American women. It addresses the issues that impact health, heart, and finances.

Bishop T.D. Jakes was this year's headliner. He's the senior pastor of The Potter's House, a global humanitarian organization and mega-church in Dallas, Texas.

ABC11 anchors Tisha Powell and Fred Shropshire served as co-hosts of the event.

ABC11 reporters Tamara Gibbs and Nicole Carr were also there signing autographs.
