Fitness and help for Fayetteville families in need all in one
Captain Christopher Webb and the All About Fitness non-profit are hosting a Holiday Fitness Drive

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A Fort Bragg soldier and his fitness team are on a mission to provide the basics for families in need.

Over the next two nights, Captain Christopher Webb and the All About Fitness non-profit are hosting a Holiday Fitness Drive. Admission to the workouts is simply the donations of gently-used clothing and shoes, gloves, socks, purses, kitchen appliances and non-perishable food items.

The drive is being held on Monday and Tuesday, with sign-up at 5:45 p.m. for a 6 p.m. workout. The charity event is being held at the College Lakes Recreation Center, 4945 Rosehill Road.

The All About Fitness group is a faith-based organization providing programs for physical, mental and financial fitness. Webb said it started in South Korea during the fall of 2012, and has turned into a global effort including military and civilian fitness trainers. Locally, the group runs a donation center out of a Spring Lake church. Their events, like the holiday drive, help fill the center with items for families in Cumberland and Hoke counties.

The mission to provide for families in need is personal to Webb.

"This means everything to me," Webb said. "I was born and raised in a house with five people, and my dad was the only working person and he was really low-rank in the military. So even though we lived on a military base, we were poor."

Tamika Williams serves as the Cumberland and Harnett County coordinator for the giving mission.

"Don't be ashamed, you know, just come," Williams said. "We don't look at people through eyes of judgement. That's not our place. Our place is only to be the hands and feet of Jesus and help everyone in need."
