Mostly Cloudy Today

First Alert Mid-morning Forecast: May 19
A damp start on Sunday with temperatures reaching low 70s.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- As expected, there were a few showers and thunderstorms yesterday afternoon and evening. There were a few wind damage reports, mostly across and north of the Triad.

With a surface front to our south, mainly just cloudy today, but we can see morning drizzle or a spotty light shower. The low cloud deck looks to be farther east now so a brighter Monday is in store for us as an area of high pressure builds over the East Coast.

A cold front on Thursday will put us in the warm sector and that extra boost could get us close to the 90-degree mark!

By Thursday night a few showers and thunderstorms move into the area and will slow down and stall out over the Carolinas on Friday. There could be a few strong thunderstorms, although the best ingredients look to be from the Sandhills in the south.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
