CARY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Some seniors in Cary are using their creative talents to benefit a cause close to their hearts this holiday season. A group of residents at Waltonwood Cary Parkway senior living community has been busy knitting beautiful winter scarves and hats to prepare for a holiday fundraiser sale.

The sale is open to residents, families and members of the public on Saturday December 3 and Sunday, December 4 from 11 AM - 4 PM.

The proceeds will go to Alzheimers North Carolina and the Alzheimer's Association to aid the fight against Alzheimer's disease. This cause is meaningful for Waltonwood Cary Parkway since the community provides care for seniors living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. Luba Kovzeff is one of the knitters who also likes to knit booties and hats to donate to babies at local hospitals.

She hopes the sale will inspires others to shop with meaning this holiday season.
