Student hit by car near Apex Friendship High School

APEX, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A student at Apex Friendship High School was hit by a car while crossing in a crosswalk Tuesday morning.

The 15-year-old boy was hit just before 7 a.m. while crossing Humie Olive Road at Evans Road. Apex Friendship is located southwest of Apex on Humie Olive Rd in Wake County.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, Robert Brantley, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
