Bank of America to lay off numerous Charlotte employees

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The second-largest bank in the country, Bank of America, is laying off a number of technology workers in Charlotte.

The cuts affected the bank global technology and operations unit in the Charlotte-based bank.

The employees laid off were given a two weeks' notice and they will be eligible for company severance.

Those affected were also encouraged to apply for other positions at other Bank of America.
