Photo shows bear hitching ride on Bertie County garbage truck

BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A bear in Bertie County hitched a ride on a garbage truck.

Bertie County Chamber of Commerce posted a picture of the bear to Facebook.

A sheriff's deputy alerted the garbage truck driver, who then pulled over and pulled back the netting of the truck.

The bear climbed out of the truck and ran into the woods safely.
