Fayetteville man charged in years-long sex abuse of child

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police arrested a suspect Thursday in connection with multiple sex offenses involving a child.

Detectives say the alleged incidents happened between December, 2014 and August 2016. The victim was 8 years old when the offenses began.

Michael Wilson, 31, of Norcliff Drive in Fayetteville, has been charged with first-degree sex offense, attempted first-degree sex offense, sexual activity by substitute parent, first-degree kidnapping and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Wilson is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $200,000 secured bond.
