She swam in the semifinals with a time of 57.42, placing 10th. Only the top 8 swimmers advance to the Finals.

The 17-year-old made her senior team Summer Games debut Saturday morning in the third heat of the women's 100-meter butterfly.
There she finished third in the heat with a time of 57.49 seconds and advanced to the semifinals.
A crowd gathered at Cardinal Gibbons High School for a watch party Saturday night to cheer on Curzan.
Her coach Jonah Turner said that even making it to the Olympics was a dream come true for her.
"I'm sure she might be disappointed but there's nothing to be disappointed about," he said. "She's an incredible athlete. Her goal was to make the Olympic team and she did exactly that. Everyone is so proud of her from her Gibbons family to her TAC Titans family to her Stingray Summer Swim Club family. So everybody's here, open arms, so proud of her accomplishments and I know she's going to do big and better things."
